The central bank has announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 note from circulation. The Reserve Bank of India has advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2,000 notes with immediate effect. RBI has said that these notes will remain in circulation till 30 September. According to the Reserve Bank, from May 23, 2023, notes of ₹ 2000 can be exchanged for notes of other denominations at a time in any bank. Note exchange limit is Rs 20,000. The Reserve Bank of India has announced the withdrawal of ₹2000 note from circulation. If you have a 2000 rupee note, then its validity will remain. RBI has instructed banks to exchange 2000 rupee notes by 30 September 2023. Only notes of a maximum denomination of ₹ 20000 can be exchanged at a time. That is, the candidate can change only 10 notes of ₹ 2000 at a time. This facility will be available from May 23, 2023 in all banks across the country. Now banks in India will not issue ₹2000 notes.

Let us tell you that taking a big decision, RBI announced demonetisation in November 2016. At that time, during demonetisation, old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 were closed. After which 2000 rupee notes were brought to meet the currency requirement. After this, now after 8 years this note is going to be out of circulation. RBI has stopped printing of 2000 notes from the year 2018-19.

If you have a note of 2000 rupees, then you can get it changed in banks till 30 September 2023. If you are not able to exchange notes in banks then ₹ 2000 note will not be valid after 30 September 2023. Therefore, if you have 2000 rupee notes, then get them changed in time. The date for changing Rs 2000 notes in banks has been fixed from May 23 to September 30, 2023. RBI has written in its circular that it is taking the 2000 note out of circulation.
